Graphic design is closely linked to social consciousness: this close contact with users allows us to reflect all the cultural and social trends taking place in the world.

Mysticism

In the context of design, mysticism includes iconography associated with astrology and divination. This trend relies heavily on the use of popular symbols-the signs of the zodiac, the all-seeing eye, the lotus flower, and sacred geometry. As in past centuries, these symbols act as talismans, filling the physical and otherworldly with deeper meaning.

A New Look at Risography

Risography is a printing technology developed in the mid-1980s by the Riso Kagaku Corporation of Japan. This invention paved the way for cheap and mass printing using dots and unsaturated colors. Such images were often grainy and unintentionally stylized as double exposures.

The resurgence of punk

Punk is a rebellious counterculture rooted in the Dadaism of the 1920s. It originated in the backwaters of society and persists there to this day. In the new year, however, we will witness a resurgence in its popularity, because there are plenty of reasons to protest right now.

Linear design in a retro style

In the new year, many designers will turn to minimalist line art to create humorous funny illustrations. It’s a retro look that evokes a sense of nostalgia for the days when we drew with felt-tip pens.

The simplicity of the line drawing gives this style a cartoonish feel (think thick outlines and “rubber hose” animation), so it’s suitable for less serious projects.

Aerographic Surrealism

Surrealism is a design trend that to this day has not lost its popularity because of its originality and endless inventiveness.

Imperfect botany.

Patterns are one of the basic elements of graphic design. They are used for backgrounds and framing content. A popular source of inspiration for creating patterns is nature: combinations of leaves, fruits and vines create truly lively compositions.

Familiar natural motifs are replaced by unexpected, whimsical patterns. It rejects the geometric precision often imposed by graphic editors. The reason for the vibrancy of these patterns is not only the plants themselves, but also the imperfection of the hand-drawn lines, which gives the digital works of art a natural, natural look.

Space psychedelia of the ’90s

Last year, ’60s psychedelia returned to graphic design in the form of escapism (escape from reality), luring viewers into rich, colorful worlds. In the new year, the trend will continue, but this time through the cosmic psychedelia of the ’90s.
